So I took the nclexPN last year and passed in the minimum amount. I used mark klimeck and the Hurst review. This time I just re watched marks videos and went over my Hurst book. I didn't have any drag and drop, no math, or ekgs on this exam. I felt the questions were hard, especially in the beginning. I didn't count but I think I had over 25 SATA.I did it many times and got the good pop up each time. I checked by BON website the next morning at 7am and had a check mark by the NCLEX task. About an hour later, I had a license number. So, all that being said, trust yourself, study hard, and go in thinking you're going to get all 145 questions.

Answering all 145 questions on the NCLEX-RN alone does not mean you failed the exam. The NCLEX is VERY similar to kaplan style of questions. While taking the NCLEX definitely requires general nursing knowledge, the exam testing your critical thinking more than anything. For me personally, Uworld helped refresh and expand my nursing knowledge base from school. However I felt like the NCLEX question style were very similar to kaplan.I did the entire HURST review and just did my first assessment and got 79/125 they recommend 77/125. I have been feeling confident. I then took 2 of the nurse achieve practice CAT exams and got pass-pass on both. However, today I decided to try SIMCLEX even though I have heard bad reviews. I took it, did all 145 questions and failed.Less than 20 SATAs, ~5 drag and drops, ~3-4 math, ~3 EKGs, mainly infection prevention, adult health, and pharm. Less than 10 questions about OB/peds. Questions are very vague compared to UWORLD so really know your rationales. Got the NCLEX completion email as soon as I got to the parking lot. Don't expect to do 85 questions in an hour and be done. I was the first of a whole group of us to leave, so clearly it's not necessarily the norm to be done in an hour. You CAN pass in 145 questions. You CAN fail in 85 questions (even if unlikely). You can pass after 5 hours and you can fail after 45 minutes.

As many others who have taken the NGN have mentioned, NCLEX questions are extremely vague in comparison to some study materials out there, particularly UWorld. Speaking of UWorld, I used about 70% of the QBank with varying practice test scores between 40-70%.

So I took the NCLEX yesterday shut off at 90 questions total 145. My last question was a milestone question which I am certain I got correct. I had many SATA probably every 2 or 3rd was SATA. I notice a trend in the exam for those who finish at 145. Personally, I had a lot of infection control, OB, therapeutic communication, prioritization, delegation and leadership. Shit ton of SATA, 1 graph and 1 calculation. I know for a fact I got the last question wrong too so that myth is busted.

This subreddit helped me SO MUCH that i wanted to share how i studied and nclex experiece to those planning to take the exam. I studied for 1.5months, using Uworld, Mark K, and High Yield podcast. Uworld questions are very similar to the actual exam, and I highly recommend it! I mixed all the questions every time 50-85 questions per day.

I answered about 30-40% of questions on UWorld. I listened to Mark K's lectures on YouTube. For me, UWorld helped me the most, and I found this out after taking the NCLEX. UWorld has a very similar format to the actual NCLEX, and because of that, it made me more comfortable to sit, read, and answer each question in an untroubled manner.I got the bad pop up!
