My workaround was to wait until staff week (week after Super Bowl) and then fire and rehire both offensive and defensive coordinators. I was able to keep my franchise going for over 10 years then. You can probably even fire and rehire the same coordinator but I usually don't.Fuck Madden, and fuck EA. Ugh. I'm so sick of their shit.
